We have one day for giving thanks. We have two days for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.

Now in its fifth year, #GivingTuesday is a day of giving, fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving back in any way you can. It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family to come together to give SOMETHING back to the community.

Youth & Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth,Inc. has proclaimed November 29, 2016  #GivingTuesday – A Day of Giving. We are encouraging our community to #Give Where You Live and consider making a donation to Youth & Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving holiday and the kick-off of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday inspires people to take action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.   At Youth & Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth we believe that #Stronger Families = Stronger Communities and it is our desire to support the community and provide a healthy, positive environment for all families.

Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we GIVE”.
